I was just a kid growing up in Oakdale—the "Cowboy Capital of the World"—when I first learned to ride. From the time I was four, the rodeo was my life. I spent my youth competing and falling more in love with the western way of life. But it was a different kind of challenge that truly shaped me: bull riding. As a teenager, I decided to try it, and that eight-second ride was one of the most powerful moments of my life. It taught me that no matter how big the obstacle, you just don’t back down.
My time as the Oakdale Rodeo Queen was an incredible honor. For a year, I got to be an ambassador for a sport that means so much to me. Today, I get to live out that same passion here at Bibby Ranch. I use everything I learned from my own journey to teach the next generation of cowboys and cowgirls. Seeing the joy on a kid's face as they discover their love for riding is why I do this.
