Fun and safety are our number one priority at Bibby Ranch
Attending horse camp offers a wide range of benefits for children that go beyond simply learning to ride. At horse camp, kids develop essential life skills like responsibility, empathy, and teamwork—meanwhile fostering a deep connection with equines.
Through hands-on activities like grooming, feeding, and riding, children gain a sense of confidence and self-esteem as they master new skills. Horse camp also provides a unique opportunity for kids to engage with nature and the outdoors, encouraging an active lifestyle and love for the environment.
The structured environment of horse camp promotes discipline and time management, teaching children the importance of commitment and caring for an animal. Additionally, interacting with horses can have a profoundly positive impact on a kid's emotional well-being; scientific studies show that interacting with horses can reduce social anxiety and promote relaxation.
If you're seeking an unforgettable experience for your child that combines fun, education, and personal growth, horse camp could be the perfect choice!
It is not summer camp here without a little bit of horse painting! We use non-toxic and washable finger paint on the horses and allow the campers to paint a few of the horses. We give the kids a choice of paintbrushes to use or they may choose to use their fingers. Campers of all ages have fun with this activity as the older kids use paintbrushes and create some really beautiful master pieces while the younger campers enjoy painting more with their hands!
Imaginations run wild in our Arts and Crafts activities! Kids can tap into their creative side as they create masterpieces in painting horseshoes, plastic horses and picture frames. Everyone loves to take home their creations.
Teaching kids how to groom horses is a wonderful way to introduce them to the world of horsemanship. Grooming not only keeps the horse clean and healthy but also fosters a strong bond between the child and the animal.
Riding horses can be an exciting and rewarding experience for children, but safety is always our top priority.
Kids learn about tacking up a horse. This involves preparing the horse for riding by placing essential equipment on it. This process ensures the horse’s comfort and safety during equestrian activities.
Every kid can learn from cleaning stalls.
Kids learn about horse tack and why it is important to care for it properly.
Pack a healthy lunch!
Besides Horse related activities we offer a variety of other fun outdoor activities during the camp week. Each of these activities is about the individual camper experience! Campers choose one afternoon activity from our list for each camp day. The second afternoon activity will be a team sport activity that all campers participate in together.
